CHRISTIAN DIOR
I first introduced myself to Dior in my teenage years while watching John Galliano’s fashion shows when he was still working at Dior house. I was impressed by the collections he created for Dior and the shows themselves which looked more like theatre performances and were accompanied by fabulous music. And at the end John Galliano came out to greet the public in a fascinating way wearing some very unusual surprising costume!
And then I got to know Christian Dior himself years later while reading his autobiography book during winter evenings in the library in Los Angeles. It was so interesting to open page after page of his world, his thoughts, his memories. Especially I liked that part of the book where he tells how he chose the future Dior house on 30 Av. Montaigne, which would become his fashion home for many years. And I’m happy it’s still there and we still have Dior.
DIOR COLLECTION
This year we have many wonderful from Dior Women Fall/Winter collection. Symbolic colors of navy blue and white with new combinations of metallic silver make the looks feel more vibrant. We like the designer’s tendency to convert classy styles into more dynamic and youthful creations. Especially we’d like to mention long Oblique reversible cashmere snood, frilled tulle mini skirt and Oblique trench coat for rainy days, these are our absolute favorites.
In Men Fall/Winter 2021-2022 collection we also see the convention of traditional silhouettes into stylish modern outfits. Navy blue vintage sleeveless jacket, trench coat with bandana collar above, and a black embroidered beret is our best choice among men looks. We find that wool jacquard sweaters with Dior Oblique motif are very nice and just perfect for cold days.
